The format war. It’s over. Done. Break out the blue victory hats and Curaçao, right? Wrong. There won’t be a Blu-ray victory party. Don’t take my word for it? How about Sony Electronics CEO Stan Glasgow’s? “From our perspective, the battle really begins now.” Now that HD DVD is dispatched, the members of Team Blu-ray can start fighting standard-def DVDs, digital downloads, consumer apathy, the Chinese and—of course—each other. Macbook ‘Virus’ Dismantles and Applies Gravity to Desktop

March 6, 2008

Try and figure out what’s going on here!

I guess it all starts with a virus that is held on a cool little pacman/apple symbol USB key. Just plug it in and it dl’s by itself. Using the Macbook’s built in accelerometer, the virus dismantles everything on your desktop and basically applies gravity to it. Your menus and icons will fall to the ground and bounce around as you shake your computer. Pretty neat, huh?

The more pixels, the worse the image. Sweet Spot: 6MP

March 3, 2008

So apparently after 6 megapixels, the more pixels your digital camera has, the worse the image gets. Camera companies know that people cream over the number of megapixels their camera possesses, and so they cram as many MPs they can onto the image sensor. With compact digital cameras the image sensor can only so big because of the cameras overall size, so the MPs get smaller as they cram more onto the sensor. This results in grainy images because there is then more ‘image noise’.

Anyway, don’t even bother reading my crappy explanation, just check out the real thing here.
