In this episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, he takes an up-close look at the SSC Ultimate Aero which is powered by a “a 1,183hp (882kW) twin-turbo V8 engine and posted an average top speed of 255.83mph (411.76km/h).” Video after the break. Leno, who at the start of the clip admits he knows very little about the car, interviews the founder of the company behind it, Jerod Shelby, and comes away with a great deal more respect for it.
Apple has just released a trio of new iPhone 3G ads: Everyone, Unslow, and Work Friendly. In these ads, Apple seems to be pushing (quite literally) the features of the new iPhone 3G/2.0 firmware.
Powered by a 3.5L Toyota V6 that generates 276hp and 250 lb-ft of torque, the Lotus Eagle “is approximately 275mm (about 13 inches) longer than the Elise/Exige, or slightly shorter (80mm) than the Porsche 911.” Video after the break. The extra space makes for a more livable cabin for at least two of its occupants and allows Lotus to use the international automotive metric for measuring capacity - it can fit one golf bag in the boot.
I think I handed out the ’sofa of my dreams’ title too quickly. Can it get any better than building your own sofa from Lego blocks? This is an example, but everyone can buy their LunaBlocks and design their own, and of course they can be reconstructed any time, like we did with the real Lego buildings long time ago. The designers, Thierry Nahon & Philippe Landecker took care of all the needs: amongst the blocks you can find pillows, metal, glass, and child-friendly material. The blocks are available in many colours and many sizes, so the number of variations is countless.
Top Gear’s latest episode has James May and Richard Hammond setting “off on a bullet train to see if they can beat Clarkson [in the GT-R] to the destination.” It takes about the duration of the ride for Clarkson to figure out what half the buttons in the GT-R do, and May and Hammond don’t have it any easier trying to communicate in Japanese to do simple things.

If you think about the word ’speakers’, what do you think of first? The object or the people? It seems Sherwood Forlee couldn’t really tell them apart, so he designed Speak-er, the speak bubble shaped speakers. So that’s “why speakers are called what they are.”
