BMW M-Zero Concept Revealed

April 24, 2008

Think of the BMW M-Zero as Aston Martin meets 6-series, sporting a ’set of “angry eye’ headlights and a bit of snarl.” No word yet on availability. “Though the extra large wheels are a bit tunerrific for our tastes, the overall design wouldn’t make a bad BMW at all. Not that the Munich-based brand needs any more high-performance coupes to sell alongside the 1 Series, 3 Series and 6 Series coupes, but if there were an open slot in the lineup, the M-Zero would fit nicely.”

Choose from Original ($77), Blue ($77), or the color-changing Purple/Pink ($153) and Orange/Yellow ($153). If, for some reason, you want to split up your monster blob, you can buy 100-case packs of Silly Putty plastic eggs ($110) in various colors.”

Bulbdial Clock Sundial - Doesn’t Need Sun.

April 16, 2008

From the designer himself: “I think we can all agree that sundials pretty much suck. They only have an hour hand, they don’t work at night or indoors, their accuracy changes with the seasons, and if you happen to live in the Southern hemisphere they run backwards. And yet, we all would love to be able to tell the time by looking at shadows, right? That’s why I’ve come up with the Bulbdial Clock.”

David from Ironic Sans came up with this Bulbdial clock, a marriage of lamps and sundials that makes an incredible amount of sense to us. It’s not real in the sense that your mortgage is real, but it is a nice design that takes the best of electricity and the best of shadows and makes something we’d definitely buy. The only problem is that it doesn’t work in direct sunlight, which kinda makes this the complete opposite of a sundial.
