VIDEO: Saleen Unveils S5S Raptor

March 30, 2008

Saleen has just unveiled the S5S Raptor, which is a “sports car designed primarily for the street instead of the track — powered by a “supercharged 5.0-liter engine that runs on E85 ethanol.” We expect that the Raptor’s motor will be based on the supercharged 5.0-liter Ford-based V8 that already powers the company’s S302E Mustang-based car. In the S302E, the engine is rated at 620 horsepower. That should give it the necessary oomph to make it to the 200 mph top speed Saleen is estimating.

March 27, 2008

Check out this cool Star Trek stuff from itsawraphollywood.com. Everything sold by this store are props and have been featured in movies or tv shows. I have chosen a Klingon Emblem Sconce featured on the Star Trek: Enterprise episode “Borderland” on the stolen Klingon starship. And a pair of Romulan Senate stools that were used in the feature film Star Trek X: Nemesis. Every item comes with certificate of authenticity. The Klingon emblem and Romulan stools wont last long, so act fast! But there is always new stuff being sold, so check it out.

VIDEO: BMW Officially Unveils Concept CS at New York Auto Show

March 25, 2008

According to BMW, “a production version of the Concept CS is expected to be based on modified underpinnings from the next-generation 7 Series.” There is also likely to be an M version. BMW has never done an M version of the 7 Series, so this car will allow the automaker to bring out an M version above the M5. The likely engine for such a car would be a 6.0-liter V12, which would be an M5 engine with two cylinders added.

An Open Letter From Mario To Nintendo

March 22, 2008

ds-speech-bubble.png

This is an open letter from Super Mario to his employers at Nintendo.

Here is a little snippet:
Dear Nintendo,
We’ve been in a business relationship for quite a while now, and to be honest, I never used to have any complaints about my job. I mean sure, my line of work has never really been considered “easy” by any means, but in the early days it just felt so much more… rewarding.

Do you get what I’m saying guys? I wasn’t too fond of chasing a huge ape up a series of ladders, but with that fine-ass Pauline waiting for me, I didn’t mind. Same thing with running around Mushroom Kingdom, I don’t mind taking out a few Koopas since I know Peach is going to be waiting for me. (”At another castle”…God that joke gets so old)

Whole Blu World: The Format War’s Bloody Aftermath

March 20, 2008

The format war. It’s over. Done. Break out the blue victory hats and Curaçao, right? Wrong. There won’t be a Blu-ray victory party. Don’t take my word for it? How about Sony Electronics CEO Stan Glasgow’s? “From our perspective, the battle really begins now.” Now that HD DVD is dispatched, the members of Team Blu-ray can start fighting standard-def DVDs, digital downloads, consumer apathy, the Chinese and—of course—each other. Here’s the current state of Blu-ray, post-war edition:read more here
