October 26, 2007If you are interested in anything at all, I hope it is this. Here is the original Salad Fingers series that is one flash animation series that you cannot afford to miss. I was first introduced to in my first year at university. It is completely insane and I wouldn’t be where I am today having not seen it. This being said, everyone wants to be like me and should thus check it out. … Anyway, Salad Fingers is a creepy British guy who likes rusty things and is totally fucked up. You wont be disappointed.

iPhone "in the field" Review
October 24, 2007Ok, So I just got back from Vancouver and read my most recent post. It is garbage. This was partly due to the fact that I was sitting at a cafe in Vancouver completely soaked from the never ending rain and completely coffee stoned, with little time to spare. (wow that was one long and overly descriptive sentence) Despite all that, the iPhone kinda sucked. The browser wouldn’t display the posting page correctly and the buttons are too small. The predictive text is retarded when trying to type in a browser because it keeps inserting weird words and characters while you are typing. Truthfully, I could of made a perfect post with the iPhone. But its a matter of constantly looking back at your text to make sure its not suggesting another word and when it is, you have to correct it. So when you just blast through a sentence, you will have zero luck (as I did at the end of the post) in making any sense.
See the post from an iPhone here.

Feature: The Artificial Sea, Indie/Electronica/Experimental
October 20, 2007
The Artificial Sea
Indie / Electronica / Experimental
The Artificial Sea is a collaboration between Kevin C. Smith and Alina Simone in which her impassioned vocals and impressionistic lyrics are set to his bedroom soundscapes and melodies. Embracing a spectrum of sounds and techniques including vintage synthesizers and drum machines, obscure samples and found sound, circuit bent creations and homemade electronics, as well as good old guitar, bass, and drums, these disparate strains are all tied together with a restrained aesthetic and fearless beauty. Recorded almost entirely at home they have rejected over-production (for aesthetic as well as practical reasons) and instead welcome any rough edges as integral to the work. The result is at once pleasing and unsettling, comforting and tense. Kevin and Alina write their parts in isolation and usually have little to no say in what the other does. Despite this isolationism (and a virtual lack of common musical touchstones) their individual contributions combine to form a cohesive, organic whole. Their first alum City Island found a home on France’s excellent Travelling Music and a follow up is currently underway.
